Every month we recognize one of our amazing volunteers for going above and beyond… and then we sit them down and ask a few questions. For January, we celebrated Brionna Simons, our Social Media Coordinator.
We sat down with Brionna this past week to discuss volunteering, AMA and more.
AMA LA: What’s your role with AMA Los Angeles?
BS: I am the LinkedIn Coordinator, on the Communications/Social Media Committee.
AMA LA: What does that involve?
BS: I create and schedule LinkedIn posts about events, membership, and marketing industry news, and also perform social media community management.
AMA LA: What is your favorite thing about volunteering for the chapter?
BS: I enjoy meeting new people that I likely wouldn’t meet otherwise. It’s been a really great experience getting to know some of the board members and other volunteers.
AMA LA: How does your volunteer role reflect what you do in your day job?
BS: I’m a director of marketing, so it’s important for me to keep up with marketing tactics and networking. I am able to do this both in my day job and in my AMA volunteer roles.
AMA LA: Where would we find you if you weren’t hard at work right now?
BS: You can find me at West L.A. coffee shops, biking the strand, or in my car listening to the Broken Record podcast or my Car Concert playlists (living in L.A., traffic is an activity – haha!).
AMA LA: Thanks for all your great work, Brionna!
